Job summary

Cambridge University Press & Assessment is seeking a Senior Assessment Manager, Physics in Cambridge. You will oversee the development of Physics assessments, ensuring quality and consistency across international qualifications, and collaborate with subject experts to maintain high standards.

The role requires a Physics degree, strong English, and extensive experience in education or assessment, with hybrid working (2 days in the office per week) and a 35-hour week.

Qualifications

  • A Physics degree or closely related discipline with substantial Physics content.
  • Experience in education, assessment, or related roles.
  • Ability to review assessment materials and support standards setting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee development and production of international question papers ensuring accuracy and validity.
  • Ensure materials are comparable over series and time, upholding fairness.
  • Contribute to standards setting, including grade thresholds.
  • Collaborate with Setters, Revisers, Vetters and Principal Examiners to maintain quality.
  • Recruit, manage and develop examiner teams, supporting succession planning.
  • Collaborate with ministry partners worldwide to review syllabuses and qualifications.
  • Provide specialist Physics expertise to support ongoing assessment development.
