Job summary

Pearson Edexcel is seeking a credible specialist in GCSE Physics to support centres in Exeter and the South West on a part-time, ad-hoc basis (about 2 days a month). The role focuses on guidance for GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics and related A Level science qualifications.

You will travel to events/trainings in the Exeter area, provide subject expertise to centres, contribute to Pearson materials, and engage with teacher communities to promote best practice.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience teaching and/or assessing Pearson Edexcel GCSE Science and/or A Level in their title science specialism.
• Represent Pearson Edexcel professionally and offer advice aligned with centre guidance.
• Attend a training day with the chair of examiners to discuss materials and requirements.
• Be prepared to travel to events or training activities within the given location to support GCSE/A level materials.

Responsibilities

• Centre visits/Zoom/telephone support to guide centres through GCSE Science and A Level qualifications.
• Create teaching and learning resources for the title specialism for the Pearson website as required.
• Provide subject expertise and market information to inform future developments and support materials.
• Attend meetings with the senior team to advise on training materials and resources.
• Run online/twilight events for GCSE and A Level.
• Engage with teacher groups on social media and act as the voice of Pearson Edexcel.
• Be a role model for outstanding pedagogy in their endorsed title.
