Job summary

RedTech Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Software Engineer to join a growing tech-for-good team near Ipswich. You will work on PHP/Laravel applications, APIs and integrations, with ownership based on experience.

You'll collaborate with engineers, QA and stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable software, while improving performance and security. The role offers hybrid working with fixed in-office days and real impact through meaningful projects.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience developing PHP and Laravel applications.
• Experience with frontend frameworks like React.
• Experience with MySQL relational databases.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns and testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve PHP and Laravel applications, APIs and supporting services.
• Build user-facing functionality and the backend systems that support it.
• Work with engineers, QA testers and wider stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable software.
• Develop integrations that allow applications and external systems to work together.
• Investigate technical issues and improve application security, performance and reliability.
• Contribute to testing, code reviews, deployment and ongoing improvements.
• Depending on your experience, take ownership of technical design for individual features and smaller solutions, contribute to wider design discussions and coach colleagues.
