The position is hybrid near Ipswich, Suffolk with mandatory office attendance on Tuesdays and Fridays. Salary ranges from £45,000 to £60,000 per year depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing applications using PHP and Laravel
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL
• Good understanding of OOP, design patterns and testing
• Experience using Git-based source control
• Clear communication and collaborative teamwork
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment
• Senior applicants: experience delivering features or smaller solutions and mentoring others
• Experience with message queues or event-driven architecture is beneficial
• Experience with caching and deployment tooling is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve PHP and Laravel applications, APIs and supporting services
• Build user-facing functionality and backend systems
• Collaborate with engineers, QA and stakeholders to translate requirements
• Develop integrations with external systems
• Investigate issues and improve security, performance and reliability
• Contribute to testing, code reviews and deployments
• Take ownership of feature design and contribute to wider discussions
