Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is recruiting a Senior Phlebotomist for the Phlebotomy Department at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The role is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:00–12:00, based in Glasgow.

The role:

The Phlebotomy Department at Glasgow Royal Infirmary is seeking a motivated and reliable Senior Phlebotomist to join our weekday team. If you are enthusiastic, compassionate, and eager to contribute to our dynamic department, we invite you to apply for this rewarding role.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Permanent, part-time, 25 hours per week

Base location - Glasgow Royal Infirmary

Shift pattern - Monday to Friday 0700-1200

Key responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality venepuncture in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Deliver safe and efficient patient care as part of a supportive team.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with patients and colleagues.
• Uphold best practices in infection control and safety at all times.
• Ensure compliance with operating procedures and written Divisional Policies:
• Infection Control
• Health & Safety
• Incident Reporting

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Minimum standard grade level education.
• Phlebotomy experience is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
