This is a unique opportunity to shape our US fundraising presence, maximise the potential of our US 501(c)(3) organisation and build influential relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices and charitable foundations.

You\'ll combine strategic leadership with hands‑on fundraising, managing a seven‑figure personal portfolio, securing transformational gifts and working closely with our US Board and professional advisers. You\'ll also line manage a Philanthropy Executive and help connect American philanthropists, foundations and corporates with our ambitious fundraising priorities.

Salary

The salary for this position is £55,000 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. Monday is a fixed in person Philanthropy team day.

In line with our EDI strategy and Total Reward policy, we calculate our salaries based on benchmarking data across the charity sector. To ensure fairness for existing staff and new joiners, we do not offer salaries above the advertised rate.

  • Support the development of our US 501(c)(3) organisation, working with US Board members, professional advisers and internal colleagues to establish effective fundraising operations.
  • Build influential relationships and networks across the US philanthropic community, creating exceptional cultivation and stewardship opportunities.

  • Experience fundraising within the US market, including relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, foundations and advisers.
  • Strong understanding of US philanthropy, including tax‑efficient charitable giving and the role of 501(c)(3) organisations.
  • Experience developing fundraising programmes or new markets, combining strategic planning with hands‑on delivery.
  • Exceptional relationship‑building and influencing skills, with confidence engaging senior philanthropists, Board members and influential stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration and people management skills, with experience managing complex relationships and developing colleagues.

Experience in healthcare, medical research, higher education or international fundraising would be advantageous.

About the team

You\'ll join our ambitious Philanthropy team, working with high-net-worth individuals, charitable foundations and influential supporters to secure transformational investment in research, innovation, capital and patient experience projects.

The team secures a significant number of £1m+ gifts and is at the forefront of delivering GOSH Charity\'s most ambitious fundraising priorities.

This is a particularly exciting time to join us. Alongside completing the £300m Build It. Beat It. appeal for the world‑leading Children\'s Cancer Centre, we\'re shaping our next major fundraising appeal around two strategic pillars: Best Chance and Best Childhood.
