Job Title: Senior Pharmacy Technician – Procurement and Medicines Optimisation

We have a new, exciting opportunity for an experienced GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician to join our committed and friendly team at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. You will support the delivery of a high-quality paediatric medicines procurement service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Support: Assist the Pharmacy Procurement and IT Systems Manager in the safe and cost-effective procurement of medicines for the trust.
2. Technical Queries: Answer complex technical queries related to drug availability and supply, providing specialist advice to meet patient and customer needs.
3. High-Cost Medicines: Support pharmacy services related to high-cost medicines not reimbursed by national tariffs, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective use in line with NHSE and CCG policies.
4. Data Analysis: Develop, manipulate, and analyze reports and databases concerning medicines procurement and usage to meet requirements from commissioners, finance, and pharmacy teams.
5. Budget and Medicines Optimization: Support the delivery of the trust’s drug budget CIP and Medicines Optimisation agenda.
