Job summary

St George'S University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in England is seeking a motivated individual to progress to a Band 3 Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO) and join our medicines optimisation team. You will currently be a Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer in a hospital setting looking to expand your role and knowledge.

Qualifications

• Work experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment, involving dispensing.
• Ward top up experience.
• Proven stock control experience & knowledge.
• Proven experience of efficient dispensing.
• Ward /clinical experience.
• Proven experience of supervising staff and workload on a day-to-day basis.
• Previous experience of participation in audit.

Responsibilities

• Day to day running of the satellite dispensing units on a rotational basis with our various satellites in different specialties and our main dispensary
• Participate in the ward Top up service / maintaining an Omnicell
• Rapid TTO turnaround to maintain patient flow
• Participate in medicines optimisation tasks where accredited
• Assist the ward-based pharmacists and pharmacy technicians at ward level maintaining the outsourced blister pack service / completing returns
• Participate in dispensary-based duties on a rota system
• Participate in late evening rota, weekends and bank holiday rota.

Skills

Effective customer care skills

Competent in all areas of dispensing

Ability to train and assess others

Familiarity with JAC computer system

Education

GCSE Grade A-C including maths, english and science

NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services
