Job summary

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join the ward-based Medicines Management team at Warwick Hospital. The post is Band 5, fixed-term for one year, and supports staff development within a friendly, forward-thinking pharmacy service.

The successful candidate will be registered with the GPhC and will provide ward-based medicines management, supervise junior staff, and collaborate with clinical colleagues to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy is welcomed but not essential.
• We support training and development for this role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a safe, effective ward-based Medicines Management service.
• Supervise other Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants, Senior Assistants and Trainees.
• Work with pharmacy and healthcare staff to provide services across wards.
• Maintain professional networks with counterparts in other Trusts.

You need to be a qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC to apply for this post, which may suit applicants with looking to take the next step in their career in a supportive and dynamic team. Experience of hospital pharmacy is not essential as you will be well-supported in your training and development for this role.

This role is primarily based at Warwick hospital, which has excellent transport links to Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry and surrounding areas.

To ensure the delivery of a safe, effective and efficient ward-based Medicines Management service.

Key Working Relationships

Managed by the Lead Pharmacy Technician or the Lead Pharmacist for the clinical team to which allocated.

Supervises other Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants, Senior Assistants, and Trainees on rotation in the section of work to which allocated.

Works and co-operates with all Pharmacy and healthcare staff in the provision of services.

Maintains a network with counterparts in other Trusts, for the exchange of information and the sharing of idea.
