Job summary
Dorset HealthCare is seeking an experienced Senior Pharmacy Support Assistant for St Ann's Hospital in Poole. You will support pharmacists in dispensing and ensuring timely medicines for in-patient and out-patient services, with ward top-up duties and training responsibilities.
A permanent, part-time (30 hours) role requiring NHS Agenda for Change Band 3 pay and the possibility of flexible hours to meet service needs.
Qualifications
- Essential NVQ 2/3 in pharmacy services or pharmacy experience.
- GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent.
- Experience in a hospital or community pharmacy.
- Dispensing experience.
- Experience with stock control systems.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Good communicator with clear English.
- Methodical, systematic worker.
- Team player.
- Attention to detail.
- Written and spoken English adequate for the role.
Responsibilities
- Based at St Ann's Hospital, mainly in the pharmacy dispensary, ensuring smooth dispensing workflow for in-patient and out-patient services.
- Perform ward top-up duties by visiting in-patient wards (St Ann's; potential expansion).
- Support other trainees within pharmacy and participate in induction breakaway training.
