Job summary

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Clinical Pharmacist on a fixed-term, part-time basis (18.75 hours per week) to gain hands-on experience across mental health and community hospitals. The post will be based at St Ann's initially, with scope to provide clinical services to other sites as you gain experience.

You will join the Dorset HealthCare Medicines Team, reviewing prescriptions, ensuring safe and evidence-based practice, supporting ward staff, and helping with

Qualifications

• Vocational masters degree in Pharmacy (4 years or equivalent) plus one year pre-registration training.
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Broad clinical pharmacy knowledge.
• Good organisational skills.
• Ability to interpret medical notes and relate them to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy support to community and mental health inpatient beds within Dorset HealthCare.
• Review prescription charts for safety, efficacy and evidence-based prescribing.
• Support ward staff and ensure adequate stock levels on allocated wards.
• Compile a drug history to facilitate discharge and continuity of care.
• DBS check is required for this post.
