Job summary

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacist for Band 3 level to join the Pharmacy Operations team in London. The post involves dispensing medicines, processing prescriptions at the hatch, and supporting ward-based services within a safe, compliant environment.

The role requires familiarity with EPIC systems, strong customer service, and the ability to work across wards with flexibility for out-of-hours cover.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive and process prescriptions at the hatch.
• Rotate and store stock to keep Dispensary clean and safe.
• Dispense medicines and assist with ward deliveries as needed.
• Deliver medicines to wards or home addresses as required.
• Provide un-planned cover for ward topping up service.

Job overview

We're looking for a motivated team player with an ability to contribute to vital pharmacy service within the Trust. They will ensure delivery of essential pharmacy services and assist with dispensing of medicines and other items to wards, other departments and most importantly patients.

• To welcome customers at the hatch and process receipt of their prescription
• To rotate and put away stock ensuring the Dispensary remains tidy and is a safe working environment

Main duties of the job

• The post holder will be trained in the use of the epic system to receipt prescriptions

• To send medicines to patients/carers home address

• The post holder will be required to provide un-planned cover for the ward topping up service

• To assist with Dispensing activities

• Deliver medicines to the wards when required
