Job summary

Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust in Romford is recruiting a Band 3 Senior Pharmacy Assistant to support Omnicell operations across King George Hospital, Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital. The role focuses on medicines procurement, stock management, and staff training to ensure timely, cost-effective service for patients.

You will manage orders, maintain stock accuracy, and participate in recalls while supporting pharmacy teams with SOP-compliant tasks.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisation and attention to detail required.
• Strong communication and IT skills.
• Experience with pharmacy Stores/Omnicell preferred.

Responsibilities

• Order medicines and pharmaceutical products using procurement systems.
• Manage stock checks and prevent expiry across Omnicell areas.
• Assist in setting up new Omnicell areas or wards.
• Handle recalls and shortages and update stock accordingly.
• Train Pharmacy and nursing staff per SOPs.
• Ensure secure storage and accurate paperwork.
• Respond to queries from wards and other locations.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and supervise store staff.
