Job summary

BHRUT is seeking a Band 3 Senior Pharmacy Assistant to support Omnicell operations at King George Hospital, Goodmayes, and Queen’s Hospital, Romford. You will help ensure medicines are available by supporting purchasing, stock control, and Omnicell tasks, with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires Level 2 pharmacy qualifications and experience in a hospital environment with automated dispensing systems.

Qualifications

• Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF) and/or Level 2 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science.
• 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
• Has worked in Pharmacy Hospital environment.
• Previous experience with automated dispensing systems.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Order medicines and pharmaceutical products using procurement systems.
• Collaborate cross-site and mitigate expired stock through monthly date checks.
• Assist in stock provision/set-up for new Omnicell areas or wards.
• Manage stock changes in recalls and shortages of medicines.
• Train Pharmacy and nursing staff in accordance with SOPs.
• Process paperwork and use the pharmacy computer system per SOPs.
• Maintain security of goods within the department.
• Answer queries from wards and other locations about supply/availability.
• Supervise pharmacy assistants and oversee daily operations.
• Assist with replenishment and housekeeping of the store robot.
