NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking a Senior Pharmacist for Intermediate Care at Ayrshire Central Hospital. Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pharmacist - Intermediate Care based at Ayrshire Central Hospital. This is a secondment opportunity until 31st March 2026.
What you will do:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to participate in the provision of high quality pharmaceutical services within NHS Ayrshire & Arran. In support of our core purpose of working together to achieve the healthiest life possible for everyone in Ayrshire and Arran we are committed to a culture that is Caring, Safe and Respectful.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering a highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to patients accessing care within our North Intermediate Care Team in Ayrshire’s Health and Social Care Partnership. Experience will be gained working in a community based multidisciplinary team who support early discharge from hospital and prevent hospital admissions. This will involve conducting comprehensive medication reviews to ensure patients can be as safe and independent as possible with their own medication at home.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will need to possess a sound clinical knowledge, good IT skills, excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and problem solving skills, the ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
We support development of our staff and applicants not currently holding a practice prescribing certificate will be supported to complete this. NHS Ayrshire & Arran has a large number of pharmacist prescribers working in secondary and primary care and to support patient-centred care in accordance with Achieving Excellence in Pharmaceutical Care.

Hours:
22.2 hours per week over 3 days.
In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and or an extended working day.
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
