Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

Due to increased funding from Scottish Government, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cancer Pharmacist with a proven track record in provision of high quality care to join the West of Scotland Cancer Network (WoSCAN) Chemotherapy Prescribing and Administration System (CEPAS) team. You will be responsible for leading and co-coordinating the development and maintenance of CEPAS across WoSCAN. Based at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre (flexible working arrangements may be discussed), you will support the 4 West of Scotland NHS Boards (NHS Ayrshire & Arran, NHS Forth Valley, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and NHS Lanarkshire) to ensure clinical safety of prescribing for cancer medicines. You will also provide highly specialist pharmaceutical care to cancer patients. To do this effectively, you will have the ability to work autonomously through application of professional judgement and be able to combine strong communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with members of the mutiprofessional team. It is essential you hold a Masters degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy and are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You should hold a Post graduate Diploma / Masters in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development. Demonstrable experience setting up electronic prescribing and practicing as an independent prescriber are desirable.

Location and Working Pattern:

The role will predominantly be based in the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre but a hybrid working model may be considered. The role is Monday to Friday, up to 22.2 hours per week.
