Job summary

TPF Recruitment is supporting an independent accountancy practice in Weybridge for a Tax Manager. You will own a personal tax portfolio and lead the tax team while collaborating with accounts and bookkeeping to deliver a joined-up client service.

The role emphasizes strong client relationships, technology adoption, and continuous improvement within a modern working environment. Hybrid pattern with 3 days in the office is in place.

Qualifications

• CTA or ATT qualified or working towards CTA/ATT
• 5+ years' post-qualification experience in an accountancy practice
• Strong technical knowledge of UK personal taxation
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of personal tax clients
• Experience reviewing work and developing junior team members
• Strong client relationships and communication skills
• Experience dealing with HMRC enquiries and compliance matters
• Proactive, commercially minded with good workload management
• Comfortable using cloud-based practice software such as Xero and QuickBooks
• Interest in technology, automation and improving processes

Responsibilities

• Managing a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients
• Overseeing the preparation and submission of personal tax returns
• Reviewing tax computations for accuracy and compliance
• Identifying tax planning opportunities and providing proactive advice
• Managing client meetings and advisory discussions
• Coordinating workloads and meeting tax deadlines
• Supporting billing and business reporting
• Liaising with HMRC on enquiries and compliance matters
• Mentoring and developing junior team members
• Keeping up to date with UK tax legislation and best practices
• Collaborating with accounts and bookkeeping teams to add value
• Providing feedback on junior staff work
• Training and development of the wider tax team
