Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Performance and Operations Manager within the General Surgery Operating Unit at Southmead Hospital. You will partner with the General Surgery Management Team to maximise service delivery across sub-specialties and improve patient pathways.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proven ability to influence across clinicians, managers, and admin staff to resolve operational issues.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Desirable: postgraduate qualification in healthcare management or CPD.
• Experience in managing waiting lists and performance.
• NHS or public sector experience.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and influence a wide range of people.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with the General Surgery Management Team within Southmead Hospital Operating Unit.
• Support the Performance and Operations Manager to maximise benefits of service delivery across sub-specialty areas.
• Facilitate smooth and timely running of the patient journey with coordinated clinical and administrative processes.
• Develop and embed a culture of continuous improvement within clinical and administrative teams.
• Deliver highly effective patient pathways by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
