Job summary

SGN is seeking a Senior People Partner for Scotland Operations to lead HR strategy and partner with senior leaders across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Paisley, Dundee, and Aberdeen. This hybrid role focuses on workforce planning, employee relations, and leadership development, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision making and change management.

You will drive engagement, talent management, and organisational effectiveness while supporting the transformation of the People team.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification, or equivalent senior HR/People partnering experience.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and leadership development.
  • Deep knowledge of employment law, ER, HR best practice, and people management.
  • Proven talent management, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • Ability to build relationships with Trade Union representatives and key stakeholders.
  • Commercially minded, analytical, proactive change agent.

  • Use people data and insights to support decision-making, drive performance, and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Support organisational change, restructuring, and workforce transition programmes, ensuring an inclusive and people-focused approach
  • Drive continuous improvement across People processes, systems, and projects to enhance the employee experience

Edinburgh, Glasgow, Paisley, Dundee, Aberdeen |£80,000 - £87,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Full Time | Hybrid

We seek a strategic Senior People Partner to drive performance, engagement, and organisational effectiveness. The SPP will guide people strategy, employee relations, trade union relationships and talent management, building strong relationships to support business goals.

Reporting into the Operations People Director, this role also involves supporting HR improvements and shaping the future direction of the People team during its transformation.

What you'll need
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification, or equivalent professional experience in a senior HR/People partnering role
  • Strong experience influencing senior stakeholders and developing leadership capability across a range of management levels
  • In‑depth knowledge of employment law, employee relations, HR best practice, and operational people management
  • Proven experience in talent management, succession planning, workforce planning, and organisational change
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with Trade Union representatives and other key stakeholders
  • Commercially minded, analytical, and adaptable, with a proactive approach to solving problems and driving positive change
This role will require travel and overnight stays to meet business needs, with occasional travel to our Southern England sites
