Job summary

The Senior People Data Governance Analyst is a new role within Defra’s People Analytics and Insights team, responsible for defining and governing workforce data, maintaining data lineage, and ensuring compliance with Data Protection and security standards to enable trusted insights and evidence-based decision making.

Collaborating with Cabinet Office and cross-government partners, you will align reporting with standards, manage the People Data Dictionary, and act as gatekeeper for access to

Qualifications

• Experience in governance of workforce data and definitions.
• Familiarity with Cabinet Office guidelines and cross-government standards.
• Ability to document data assets and maintain data dictionaries.

Responsibilities

• Review governance documentation for workforce data and ensure alignment with government standards.
• Act as SME on workforce data standards and governance practices; ensure team uses current guides.
• Support governance forums and contribute to policies, standards and guidance on workforce data.
• Ensure workforce data assets are documented, managed and governed per organisational requirements.
• Identify and escalate risks related to governance and use of people data; ensure compliance with UK GDPR and Data Protection policies.
