Job summary

Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Senior People Advisor - Absence Management Specialist to lead sickness absence management, wellbeing, and attendance culture within Estates, Facilities and MES services.

The role is Band 6, full-time 37.5 hours per week, fixed term initially for 6 months (with potential extension to 18 months).

You will work with colleagues and managers to support attendance, wellbeing and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading sickness absence management and supporting attendance, wellbeing and performance.
• Ability to provide expert HR advice on complex absence cases.
• Commitment to compassionate, inclusive and consistent policy application.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage sickness absence cases, maintaining regular contact with colleagues.
• Facilitate early, safe returns to work with appropriate support plans.
• Provide expert HR advice on long-term and frequent short-term absence.
• Ensure robust application of Trust policies and procedures.
• Shape and embed a positive attendance culture across Facilities.
