Job summary

UHNM's Staffordshire Children's Hospital at Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent is recruiting Senior Care Support Workers to join SCH@RSUH. The role supports children, young people and their families throughout their healthcare journey, under the supervision of registered nurses and clinicians.

You will provide hands-on care, offer reassurance, and help create a positive experience in paediatric services, contributing to safe, compassionate care and patient-centred outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent.
• Evidence of professional development activity undertaken in relevant areas.
• Ability to motivate and support others.
• Able to use own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on care under supervision.
• Provide emotional reassurance to patients and families.
• Support nurses and clinicians in paediatric care.
• Contribute to creating a safe, compassionate patient experience.

Education

GCSE level 4/C or Level 2 equivalent incl Maths and English

Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
