Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) operates across two sites, Royal Stoke and County Hospital. This vacancy is for a Senior Care Support Worker in the Staffordshire Children’s Hospital at Royal Stoke, joining a compassionate team to help care for children, young people and families.

You will work under registered nurses and other clinicians to provide hands-on care, emotional support, and contribute to a safe, high-quality paediatric service, with emphasis on kindness,

Qualifications

• 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent.
• Evidence of professional development activity undertaken in relevant areas.
• Ability to motivate and support others.
• Able to use own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on care under supervision of registered nurses and clinicians.
• Provide emotional reassurance to children, young people and families.
• Contribute to creating a positive experience in paediatric services.
• Support team with patient-centred care and safety practices.

Education

GCSE level 4/C or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English (ECCTIS is required for overseas qualifications)

Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (NVQ MUST be from an accredited awarding body)
