Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK is seeking a Senior or Principal Peat Scientist to lead peat surveys and develop sustainable management strategies across major infrastructure projects. The role supports growth across peat, soil and agricultural land quality service lines and involves office and field work with a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will liaise with clients, regulators and contractors, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in peatland assessment and management.
• Experience supporting infrastructure projects with peat/soil considerations.
• Willingness to develop peat, soil and agricultural land quality service lines.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the technical delivery of peat surveys and development of sustainable management strategies.
• Support and lead on client work development, preparation of proposals and input into bids for multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Liaison with clients, regulators, sub-contractors and other internal disciplines.
• Maintain excellent professional relationships to secure repeat business.
• Provide technical guidance, constructive support and mentoring to junior staff.
• Develop own competence and CPD with support from the business.
