Job summary

TPF Recruitment Ltd is proud to support a well-established Canterbury accountancy practice in recruiting a Payroll Supervisor. This role oversees daily payroll delivery for a varied portfolio and supervises the payroll team to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

You will work with client payroll queries, ensure compliance with current legislation, and contribute to process improvements within a large payroll department.

Qualifications

• Strong payroll experience within an accountancy practice, payroll bureau or client-focused environment.
• Experience reviewing payrolls and supervising junior staff.
• Excellent technical payroll knowledge and understanding of current legislation.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied portfolio of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Supervising and supporting payroll team members, reviewing work and providing guidance.
• Acting as a key contact for clients and responding to payroll queries professionally and promptly.
• Ensuring compliance with current payroll legislation and managing reporting and submissions.
• Overseeing workplace pension and automatic enrolment requirements, including assessments and submissions.
• Assisting training and development of junior payroll team members.
• Supporting the Payroll Manager with process improvements and department growth.
