Job summary

Oxenholme is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to oversee a varied client payroll portfolio and deliver accurate, compliant service. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing and liaise with HMRC, clients and colleagues to meet deadlines.

Applicants should have practice-based payroll experience, strong end-to-end processing skills and solid knowledge of PAYE/NI, pensions and UK payroll legislation. Excel/Word proficiency and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous payroll experience in an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
• Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience.
• Experience using Sage 50 Payroll or a comparable system.
• Sound knowledge of PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory payments.
• Up-to-date understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance.
• Strong numerical and data-entry skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
• Enter and validate payroll data using Sage 50 Payroll.
• Calculate PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments.
• Ensure compliance with National Minimum Wage and current payroll legislation.
• Complete RTI submissions and HMRC reporting as required.
• Respond to payroll queries from clients and employees.
• Liaise directly with HMRC regarding payroll-related matters.
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding deadlines and information requirements.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation.
• Work with accounts, tax and other departments across the practice.
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement updated payroll procedures.
