Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a busy payroll team in Hemel Hempstead. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of client payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

This hands-on role involves liaising with clients, handling starters and leavers, calculating statutory payments, and supporting year-end processes while upholding high service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll processing and understanding of UK statutory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Confidence communicating with clients and handling payroll queries.
• Ability to manage multiple payrolls and competing deadlines.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Professional and discreet handling of sensitive information.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Managing end-to-end payroll processing across a portfolio of clients.
• Processing starters, leavers, P45s and payroll amendments.
• Maintaining accurate payroll records and employee data.
• Calculating statutory payments (SSP, SMP) and deductions (DEAs).
• Processing tax codes, pension contributions and other deductions.
• Producing and checking payroll reports.
• Ensuring third-party payments are completed accurately and on time.
• Supporting year-end payroll processes.
