Job summary

DK Recruitment is partnering with a well–established professional services business in Newton Abbot to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager. You will manage a portfolio of client payrolls from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent client service.

The role requires handling diverse payroll schedules, maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to ongoing improvements within a busy payroll function.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll bureau or multi-client payroll environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC rules.
• Experience with workplace pensions and auto-enrolment.
• Excellent organisation and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Proficient in payroll software and Excel.
• CIPP qualification or equivalent experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payrolls for a varied client portfolio.
• Manage weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls.
• Handle starters, leavers, statutory payments and payroll amendments.
• Submit FPS, EPS and RTI to HMRC.
• Administer pension submissions and auto-enrolment.
• Produce year-end documents (P60s, P11Ds where required).
• Resolve client payroll queries professionally.
• Stay updated with payroll legislation and compliance.
• Build strong client relationships and provide payroll bureau service.
• Support improvements to payroll processes and systems.
