Job summary

Ferguson Transport & Shipping is recruiting a Senior Payroll Officer to lead a busy payroll office in Corpach, Fort William. The role can be 30 hours or more with scope to full-time, managing end-to-end payroll processes and ensuring compliance with UK law.

You will oversee daily operations, handle high-volume payroll, and respond to queries while guiding colleagues and maintaining data confidentiality. Strong Excel and payroll software experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a payroll role.
• Degree or relevant professional qualification or equivalent knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and UK legislation.
• Commitment to keeping up to date with changes in payroll rules.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supervising a payroll team and handling high-volume payroll.
• Experience dealing with HMRC and pension providers.

Responsibilities
