Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Payroll Officer to lead end-to-end payroll for a multi-site workforce in a growing organisation. You will own the monthly payroll for 300+ employees using Sage Payroll, ensuring accuracy, deadlines, and compliance.

You'll work closely with Finance and HR, drive process improvements, and have a clear path toward Payroll Manager as the team expands, with hybrid working and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Strong end-to-end payroll experience.
• Experience processing payroll for 300+ employees.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The confidence to work independently and take ownership.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A genuine interest in progressing into payroll management.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the end-to-end monthly payroll process.
• Manage payroll for employees across multiple sites.
• Process payroll accurately within deadlines.
• Utilise Sage Payroll to manage and process payroll.
• Ensure compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory requirements.
• Manage starters, leavers, changes, deductions and adjustments.
• Complete payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure payroll information is accurate.
• Support development and improvement of payroll processes.
• Help develop the payroll function as the workforce grows.
