Job summary

Moore Kingston Smith is seeking a Senior Payroll Advisor for a 6-month fixed-term contract in Romford. The role involves delivering accurate, compliant payroll services for a diverse portfolio including expatriate and international payrolls, complex pension arrangements, and share schemes.

You will act as a senior technical advisor, mentor junior staff, manage HMRC submissions, and drive process improvements while ensuring excellent client service and strong relationship management.

Qualifications

• Solid payroll processing experience in a bureau or client-facing environment.
• Advanced knowledge of UK payroll legislation and auto-enrolment.
• Experience handling complex payrolls including expatriate/international payrolls.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex client payrolls with accuracy and timeliness across frequencies and jurisdictions.
• Deliver payroll services involving complex pension arrangements, expatriate and international payrolls, benefits and share schemes.
• Act as a senior technical payroll adviser, guiding on complex queries and legislative requirements.
• Manage HMRC submissions, statutory filings and year-end processes to ensure compliance.
• Administer auto-enrolment duties and related statutory requirements.
• Support payroll implementations and client onboarding with system enhancements.
• Operate payroll systems (IRIS) ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Build strong client relationships and act as trusted advisor on payroll matters.
• Prepare client billing information and support commercial opportunities.
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices across payroll team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in processes, compliance and service delivery.
• Stay updated on payroll legislation and industry developments.
