Job summary

Moore Kingston Smith is hiring a Senior Payroll Advisor in Romford to join the Payroll team on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. You will manage complex client payrolls across multiple frequencies and jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.

The role requires advanced technical payroll expertise, strong client advisory capability, and mentoring of junior staff, with focus on pensions, expatriate payrolls, and international payrolls using IRIS Payroll Professional.

Qualifications

• Solid payroll processing experience within a bureau or client-facing professional services environment.
• CIPP qualification or qualified by experience.
• Advanced knowledge of payroll systems, particularly IRIS Payroll Professional.
• Experience managing client relationships and multiple payrolls.
• Excellent knowledge of UK payroll legislation and auto-enrolment.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex client payrolls across multiple frequencies and jurisdictions.
• Deliver payroll services including pensions, expatriates and international payrolls.
• Provide senior guidance on complex queries and legislative requirements.
• Manage HMRC submissions, statutory filings and year-end processes.
• Administer auto-enrolment obligations and related requirements.
• Support payroll implementations and client onboarding.
• Operate payroll systems, especially IRIS Payroll Professional.
• Build strong client relationships and act as trusted contact.
• Prepare client billing information and support wider business opportunities.
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices.
• Contribute to process improvements and compliance.
• Stay updated on payroll legislation and industry developments.
