Job summary

TC Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Payroll Advisor to join the Stanley team. You will deliver high-quality payroll services to a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring payrolls are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with current legislation.

Working closely with colleagues across Client Accounting Services and Tax, you will build strong client relationships, provide expert payroll support and help improve systems and processes.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in a payroll role in accountancy practice preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, RTI submissions and statutory requirements.
• Experience managing a portfolio of payroll clients and meeting deadlines.
• Experience using Sage 50 Payroll and Xero Payroll.
• Proactive, client-focused with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage payrolls for a portfolio of clients with accuracy and timeliness.
• Be the main contact for payroll-related client queries.
• Process payrolls per HMRC and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and submit RTI filings and other payroll submissions.
• Build strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service.
• Support and mentor junior payroll team members.
• Stay updated on payroll legislation and best practices; deliver training as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency.

Competitive, depending on experience

Hours:

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday – we would also consider part-time candidates working a minimum of 28 hours per week

Working Pattern:

Hybrid and flexible working available following probationary period

Holiday:

The Opportunity

As a Senior Payroll Advisor, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality payroll service to a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring payrolls are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with current legislation. Working closely with colleagues across the Client Accounting Services and Tax teams, you'll build strong client relationships, provide expert payroll support and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes. What You'll Be Doing

• Managing payrolls for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
• Acting as a key point of contact for payroll-related client queries
• Processing payrolls in line with HMRC and statutory requirements
• Preparing and submitting RTI filings and other payroll submissions
• Building strong relationships with clients and delivering excellent service
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the payroll team
• Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and best practice, delivering training where required
• Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency

What We're Looking For

• At least 2 years' experience in a payroll role, ideally within an accountancy practice environment
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, RTI submissions and statutory requirements
• Experience managing a portfolio of payroll clients and delivering work to deadlines
• Experience using payroll software, ideally Sage 50 Payroll and Xero Payroll
• A proactive and client-focused approach, with excellent communication skills
• The ability to support, mentor and share knowledge with colleagues
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
