Job summary

Portfolio Group is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Advisor to join a growing chartered accountancy practice. You will work within a large payroll team handling complex, high-volume, multi-frequency payrolls for a diverse client portfolio.

You will manage end-to-end payroll, process benefits and pensions, build strong client relationships, mentor junior staff, and contribute to continuous system improvements while keeping up-to-date with legislation.

Qualifications

• Experience processing payroll for multiple clients in a bureau or accountancy setting.
• Proficient in IRIS payroll system and other payroll platforms.
• Strong IT and Excel skills.
• Ability to adapt to complex, multi-frequency payrolls.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll across multiple frequencies for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Process benefits, share schemes, pensions etc…
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact for complex payroll matters.
• Mentor and support junior team members

This role sits within a high‑performing payroll team that supports a wide range of clients with complex, high‑volume, and multi‑frequency payrolls. The role will be working as part of a large team focusing on processing a complex varied portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage end to end payroll across multiple frequencies for a complex varied portfolio of clients
• Process benefits, share schemes, pensions etc…
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact for complex payroll matters.
• Mentor and support junior team members
• Working on continuous system improvement where required
• Stay up to date on legislation changes

Essential experience:

• Strong experience processing high volume payroll for multiple clients in a bureau or accountancy environment
• Experience using IRIS system
• Experienced on payroll systems
• Experienced managing client relationships
• Ability to process pensions/benefits
• Strong IT/excel skills
