Job summary

Adaptable Recruitment Ltd. supports a well known charity in Liverpool by recruiting an experienced Senior Payroll Advisor on a permanent basis. The role offers hybrid working from Chorley or Huyton offices and salary 32,000–35,000 with CIPP Level 5 support.

You will own the payroll function, coordinating weekly and monthly submissions across locations and acting as the main liaison with the outsourced payroll provider. Strong payroll expertise and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Significant payroll experience required.
• CIPP qualified or working towards Level 5, with our support.
• Ability to liaise with outsourced payroll provider and HR Operations.

Responsibilities

• Own weekly and monthly payroll submissions across multiple locations.
• Act as liaison with outsourced payroll provider (RSM).
• Ensure payroll data is accurate and submitted on time.
• Review payroll info and resolve discrepancies.
• Process payroll adjustments, advances and off-cycle payments.
• Handle employee payroll queries with timely responses.
• Complete year-end activities and statutory submissions to HMRC and pension providers.
• Produce payroll reports and MI as required.
• Build strong relationships with managers and HR Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the coordination of weekly and monthly payroll submissions across multiple locations
• Act as the primary liaison between Best Lives and our outsourced payroll provider, RSM
• Ensure payroll data is accurate, complete and submitted within agreed deadlines
• Review payroll information and resolve discrepancies or queries promptly
• Process payroll adjustments, advances and off-cycle payments
• Manage employee payroll queries with clear, timely responses
• Complete year-end activities and support statutory submissions to HMRC and pension providers
• Produce payroll reports and management information as required
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with managers, colleagues in HR Operations, and Payroll Provider
• Identify and lead improvements to payroll processes, systems and service
