Job summary

Tesco Technology is seeking a Senior Software Developer in the UK to own development and support for core payment services. You will work across the stack with .NET/C#, Java, Cassandra, Docker, HAProxy and Azure DevOps, focusing on high-impact, scalable systems and a DevOps culture.

Qualifications

• Experience with .NET/C# and/or Java and willingness to adopt new technologies.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure).
• Experience in agile environments and TDD.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience in Ecommerce payment systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement scalable frontend/backend systems using .NET/C# and/or Java.
• Produce test-driven features and demonstrate the TDD cycle.
• Apply software design principles to build maintainable systems.
• Collaborate with product stakeholders to translate needs into improvements.
• Break down work to deliver value incrementally and manage risk on large projects.
• Lead design discussions with the team and drive value with Product Managers.
• Support production systems, resolve incidents, and learn from them.
• Share knowledge with the wider engineering community.
• Mentor and develop others around you.
• Produce proofs of concept to evaluate new tools.
