Job summary

A Payments Business Analyst role at Ampstek involves translating complex payment flows into clear functional and data specifications. The candidate will work with databases and Databricks to perform data analysis and validation, ensuring end-to-end payment processing and ledger integrity.

Qualifications

• Must have strong Payments Business Analysis experience.
• Expertise in payments lifecycle and transaction processing.
• Experience with ledgering/posting concepts in payment systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 20022 and SEPA.
• Knowledge of payment messaging formats and data mapping.
• Proficient in querying databases (SQL) and Databricks for data analysis.
• Ability to define source-to-target mappings and data specifications.
• Experience creating detailed functional/data specifications and acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into functional/data specifications for payments processing.
• Query databases and Databricks to analyze and validate payment data.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation across source, intermediate and target systems.
• Define and map data models, tables, APIs and messages across platforms.
• Create detailed data mappings, field-level rules and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and QA to implement specifications.
• Support AI-driven development by structuring requirements for AI-assisted engineering.
• Analyze defects and production issues via data interrogation and transaction tracing.
• Support testing and production validation across functional, data and integration tests.
