Job summary

Kier Group in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Pavement Engineer to join the Highways Interim Services Contract team at Thimble Mill Lane. Hybrid working is available.

You will lead pavement maintenance and renewal programmes from concept through to detailed design, collaborating with clients and stakeholders to deliver sustainable, cost-effective solutions and to extend asset life. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, post-graduate highways experience, Chartered status or progress toward

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated (IEng) or working towards accreditation with ICE/CIHT/IHE.
• Post-graduate experience delivering highways and pavement design projects.
• Knowledge of pavement design standards including DMRB and MCHW.
• Understanding of pavement maintenance, asset management and lifecycle planning.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to develop practical engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of pavement maintenance and renewal programmes to maximise asset performance.
• Provide technical support to design engineers and stakeholders.
• Conduct inspections, lifecycle analysis and whole-life assessments to inform asset strategy.
• Identify and implement innovations to improve asset management practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote health and safety.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Highways Engineering / Transportation Engineering
