Job summary

Royal Berkshire is seeking a senior leader to head the Palliative Care Team, driving service development, education, governance, quality improvement and research, and to ensure compassionate, evidence-based end-of-life care across the Trust.

The role is full-time over five days a week, with weekend and Bank Holiday working, leading a multidisciplinary team and shaping strategies in partnership with the Consultant Nurse.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with nursing degree and further qualification in palliative care.
• Experience leading a multidisciplinary team in a healthcare setting.
• Proven ability to drive governance, education and research in palliative care.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of palliative and end-of-life care across the Trust.
• Oversee education, governance, quality improvement and research activities.
• Provide clinical and operational expert advice on palliative care.
• Collaborate with the Consultant Nurse and MDT to advance strategies.
• Support staff development and staff welfare while promoting flexible working.
