Job summary

Sue Ryder’s Community Team in Peterborough seeks a Senior Healthcare Assistant to deliver compassionate home-based care, promoting patient choice and dignity. You will assess needs, support families, and work within a supportive team to ensure high-quality end-of-life care in patients’ homes.

The role requires NVQ3 or substantial relevant experience, a full UK driving licence, and strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 qualification is strongly preferred; applicants with substantial relevant experience are welcome to apply.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport are essential.
• Proven experience of working within a team.
• Demonstrable leadership and supervision skills.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients in their own homes.
• Promote choice in the delivery of care and support.
• Review and suggest improvements to enhance service users’ experience.
• Observe service users’ conditions and report changes.
• Support service users to have their views considered in how the service is provided.
