Job summary

The Best Connection are recruiting for a Senior Pallet Maker in Birmingham to join a busy wood recycling and pallet manufacturing operation. You will manufacture, repair and refurbish pallets and lead by example on the shop floor, supporting the Operations Manager in daily running.

Role is 12-week temporary to permanent with day shifts; salary £14.50 - £17.50 per hour (DOE) and a strong pathway to long-term employment in a growing business.

Senior Pallet Maker

Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 16:00 | Friday 07:00 - 15:00

The Best Connection are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing wood recycling and pallet manufacturing business based in Birmingham, for an experienced Senior Pallet Maker.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to join a busy operation, working closely with the Operations Manager and supporting the day-to-day running of the pallet manufacturing department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manufacturing, repairing and refurbishing pallets


• Supporting the management of the pallet production team


• Ensuring production targets are achieved


• Monitoring quality standards and productivity levels


• Leading by example on the shop floor


• Operating FLT equipment safely and effectively


• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed


• Supporting staff development and maintaining high standards across the department


• Assisting the Operations Manager with the smooth running of the operation

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience within pallet manufacturing, timber production, recycling or a similar industrial environment


• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to support and motivate a team


• Fair but firm approach to managing people

Candidates with a valid Counterbalance Licence but no Bucket Loader Licence will still be considered, as training can be provided for the right person.
