Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to support children and young people in school-based paediatrics. You will lead on training, supervise junior staff, and work within a multidisciplinary team to promote self-care, school participation and leisure.

You will contribute to service development, ensure evidence-based practice, and maintain accurate case notes while adapting to flexible patterns and changes within the trust.

Qualifications

• Experience as an OT in paediatric settings, preferably school-based.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage caseloads.
• Ability to supervise and support junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead in creation and delivery of training packages for school-based paediatrics.
• Develop and implement universal, targeted, and specialist interventions.
• Maintain accurate case notes and monitor outcomes.
• Provide supervision and leadership within the team.
