Job summary

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) seeks experienced Senior Occupational Therapists to join the Experts at Hand programme in Devon. roles span assessment, intervention and leadership within a multidisciplinary team serving children and young people across home, school and community settings.

You will work with families, schools, and partner agencies, delivering evidence-based practice, supervision and development opportunities with a clear pathway for career progression.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (required).
• HCPC registration current and active.
• Diploma level specialist training or relevant experience.
• Post-graduate certified courses for children’s needs (e.g. sensory, ADOS).
• Membership of professional body required or desirable.

Responsibilities

• Hold responsibility for assessment, clinical reasoning, intervention planning and management of a specialist caseload.
• Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessment, advice and intervention across home, education and community settings.
• Work collaboratively with children, families, schools and partner agencies using strengths-based, goal-focused approaches.
• Support schools through consultation, coaching, modelling of strategies, training and capacity-building.
• Deliver and evaluate targeted interventions using evidence-based practice and routine outcome measures.
• Provide specialist advice regarding equipment, environmental adaptations and statutory OT responsibilities where appropriate.
• Work autonomously whilst managing clinical risk and complexity.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and ongoing development of the Experts at Hand model.
• Provide supervision, mentoring and support to Band 4 and Band 5 staff, assistants and students.
• Support multidisciplinary working, workforce development and positive outcomes for children and young people.
