Job summary

Gateshead Health in the North East of England invites applications for a Senior Clinical Fellow (Registrar) in Paediatrics. The post is full-time for 12 months, offering broad clinical exposure in a General Paediatric unit with level 1 Neonates, suitable for those aiming for a paediatric career.

The role includes on-call duties, outpatient clinics under Consultant supervision, and participation in audits, teaching, QI projects, and governance activities within a supportive NHS environment.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent required.
• APLS or an equivalent resuscitation course.
• Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• MRCPCH qualification desirable.
• Additional degree or equivalent is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Recognition, assessment and management of unwell/sick children in acute/ambulatory setting.
• Neonatal assessments and resuscitation skills; participate in on-call rota.
• Conduct General Paediatric outpatient clinics under Consultant supervision; participate in audits and teaching.
