Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics and Neonates for a full-time role. The post rotates between General Paediatrics and Neonates within a busy hospital and large team, with opportunities to participate in outpatient clinics under consultant supervision.

The appointee will join a supportive paediatric department, provide inpatient care, supervise Foundation doctors, and contribute to teaching, audit and educational activities.

Qualifications

• Hold a current licence to practice from the General Medical Council (GMC)
• MRCPCH (Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health)
• Advanced Paediatric Life Support Certificate or equivalent
• Experience of audit

Responsibilities

• Managing paediatric patients throughout their hospital stay
• Delivering care to Newborns in the Neonatal Services
• Delivering care to the NICU/SCBU, labour ward & post-natal
• Assessment of referred babies
• The review of all babies as needed
• Supervising Foundation doctors
• Review of protocols as part of the team
• The appointee will be expected to work flexible across the service as required, as and when service needs change
• To take part in outpatient clinics under the supervision of the Consultant Paediatricians
• To participate in the department's teaching, audit and educational activities
