Job summary

The Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is advertising a Senior Clinical Fellow (Registrar) in Paediatrics to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis for 12 months. The post offers clinical experience in a supportive General Paediatric unit with exposure to level 1 Neonates and is suitable for those pursuing a career in Paediatrics.

This is a full-time post within a 2nd on-call middle grade framework, based in the North East of England, with involvement in teaching, audits and quality

Responsibilities

• Recognition, assessment and management of unwell/sick children in acute/ambulatory setting
• Neonatal assessments and resuscitation skills
• Participate in the on call rota
• Conduct General Paediatric outpatient clinics under Consultant supervision
• Participate in audits and current research projects
• Participate in the teaching of resident doctors and Medical Students
• Involvement in quality improvement projects
• To maintain a good working relationship with existing staff members in the hospital
• To perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances

This is a full time post and is part of full shift system, as 2nd on call, Middle Grade in Paediatrics with level 1 Neonatal care.

• Conduct General Paediatric outpatient clinics under Consultant supervision

• To maintain a good working relationship with existing staff members in the hospital.
• To perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant in conjunction, where practicable, with their colleagues
