Job summary

OCU is seeking a Senior Planner to lead the development and management of project programmes across all phases in water schemes for United Utilities and Yorkshire Water. You will liaise with construction and site teams to update and monitor programmes, delivering comprehensive management insights and reporting.

You will drive tender-to-construction planning, apply change control, and produce earned value reports. Regular site presence and coordination with client teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with Primavera P6 in water projects.
• Mandatory: P6 project management in water industry.
• Mandatory: NEC contracts experience.
• Desirable: FIDIC and JCT forms knowledge.
• HNC in construction or equivalent.
• Strong planning, controls, and project reporting skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and MS Project.
• CSCS Visitor Yellow Card (can be obtained).
• Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Analyse tender and bid documents to build detailed programmes with cost, time, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate input from tender and bid teams into planning activities.
• Develop tender programmes into construction programmes (1st principles).
• Produce and update programmes throughout the project life cycle.
• Apply change control processes and assess effects on programmes.
• Lead programme development with the construction team and ensure timely updates.
• Review progress with the construction team and report findings.
• Create earned value reporting with resource and cost loading.
• Attend meetings with Project Teams and Clients.
• Liaise with Client planners and project managers as required.
• Attend site regularly to assist planning matters.
• Collate progress information and produce progress reports.
• Ensure planning techniques comply with company standards.
• Supervise other Planners as directed by the Planning Manager.
