Job summary

NG Bailey Group is seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Protection & Control) to lead challenging electrical engineering projects aligned with the UK Net Zero targets. The role emphasizes delivering 11kV–400kV P&C/SCADA designs, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will bring 8–10 years of protection and control experience, be comfortable with AutoCAD, and may hold Chartered Engineer status.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of extensive experience in electrical protection and control system design.
• Chartered Engineer status is preferred and highly desirable.
• NEBOSH certification or training is beneficial but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Design substation Protection and Control/SCADA systems from 11kV to 400kV using AutoCAD.
• Produce P&C specifications and wiring/diagram drawings for substations.
• Lead and mentor senior and junior engineers; review designs and provide feedback.
• Coordinate with Power Systems, Primary, and Civil design teams to meet project objectives.
• Attend site commissioning and resolve technical queries and RFIs.
• Manage project budgets and deliver design work within schedule.
