Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in St Helens is inviting applications for a Senior Health Care Support Worker in Outpatients. You will work under supervision to support a Registered Nurse, helping with direct patient care and patient flow across our Outpatients Department.

This permanent role is based across our Outpatients sites, with flexible full- and part-time hours and a 37.5-hour week; the NHS AfC Band 3 salary range starts at £25,760 and rises to £27,476 per year.

Qualifications

• Direct patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assisting with procedures and chaperoning as required.
• Directing patients to departments and providing information as directed.

Responsibilities

• Assist trained nursing staff and Doctors with patient care and clinics.
• Prepare consulting rooms and ensure documentation is available for clinicians.
• Ensure equipment and examination beds are cleaned and rooms prepared before/after each clinic.
• Receive patients, provide information and advice as directed by the nurse in charge.
