Job summary

Rullion is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our Wider Engineering Team as an Outage Planning Engineer. You will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of major outages, inspections and maintenance campaigns for a large industrial site.

The role suits someone with outage planning experience, ideally in power generation or related industries, who can work with site teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure safe, timely and budget-compliant outages.

Qualifications

• Experience in outage/maintenance planning within large industrial environments.
• Experience planning major outages, shutdowns, inspections or overhauls in power generation or process industries.
• Knowledge of health & safety, CDM and environmental legislation.
• Budgeting, cost control and contract management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and coordination of major planned outages, ensuring KPIs are achieved.
• Develop and manage integrated outage schedules with milestones and critical paths.
• Coordinate with Site Outage Managers, Engineering, Operations, H&S, Environmental and Finance teams.
• Integrate contractor and supplier programmes into the outage schedule.
• Monitor outage progress and implement recovery actions as required.
• Plan major inspections and maintenance campaigns within outage windows.
• Optimise scope, sequencing and duration to maximise plant availability.
• Support budget forecasting, cost control and KPI reporting.
• Apply project controls to manage changes and emergent work.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and post-outage reviews.
• Ensure outages are delivered safely and in line with Generation Safety Rules.
